Having spent some time in Cedar key on multiple occasions I can gladly say it's simply a great place to relax and take in a great sunset. Some of my best sunset photos are from right there in Cedar Key.
There are plenty of places to get a meal and a cold drink. If I have a day to spare Cedar Key is always on my top three list. Don't miss it. Just a quick note. With the recent storm damage you may find that many of the business owners are still trying to recover.
As I previously stated one of the highlights of Cedar Key is its breathtaking sunsets. Whether you choose to watch the sunset from a waterfront restaurant or take a sunset cruise, you're in for a treat. And if you're a seafood lover, you're in luck.
Cedar Key is also known for its fresh seafood, particularly its succulent clams. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in a plate of steamed clams while enjoying the picturesque views of the Gulf.
Brooksville - A Historic Town with Charm and Character
Step back in time as you explore the historic town of Brooksville. This small town is brimming with charm and character, with its tree-lined streets and beautifully preserved buildings.

Brooksville has had many improvements over the last few years. The Brooksville business community is very active. With Art shows, Friday Night concerts, Walking Tours and plenty of historical sites.
Brooksville is rich in it's southern history and culture. Brooksville is home to several antique shops where you can browse for unique treasures and souvenirs to take home.
For Nature Enthusiasts...
a visit to the nearby Withlacoochee State Forest is a must. Here, you can embark on scenic hikes, go birdwatching, or even try your hand at fishing. And if you're a kakaker it's one of the premier places to take a kakak ride while enjoying natures best.
New Port Richey - Exploring the Riverfront and Vibrant Arts Scene
Situated along the scenic Pithlachascotee River, New Port Richey is a small town that offers a delightful blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences. Start your visit with a stroll along the riverfront, where you can enjoy picturesque views and spot dolphins playing in the water.
This is a town that doesn't get enough credit. On my last visit downtown I was very surprised at how things were so clean and inviting. There are many shops, Sims Park, the waterway, a veterans memorial area and people walking along the sidewalks enjoying the day.
For someone looking to have a nice walk through downtown, enjoy a cafe lunch or coffee, New Port Richey is truly a great place to spend some time.
Maybe not as historic as say a Brooksville, but certainly a great Florida Small Town.
